Updates on Spay/ Neuter camp organised on 15 April 2015

Mrs. Abha Singh of ” Aashray for Sick & Helpless Animals” successfully hosted yet another Varanasi for Animals organised and Help Animals India funded dog Animal Birth Control Camp with the kind assistance of HOPE & Animal’s support.

We successfully spayed 21 female & neutered 2 male dogs in these two days. All the dogs recovered well & released back in their respective territories. One female community dog was brought by a school parent!

Besides 23 ABC the Vet also performed an eye operation to a ‘cherry eyed” dog in front of Mrs Abha Singh’s house who was suffering for a long time.

A Jersey cow had her tibia ( hind leg) broken & she has been lifted up with the help of straps along a tree & iron pipes. All thanks to the school staff of Mrs Singh, around 12 persons slogged for 2-3 hours to lift the 300 kg cow with straps & also rested her midrif on tables with thick mattress. Lot of massage & medication going on. Pray she survives this long phase & her bones gets joined & she gets on her four legs.

Thank you all to your compassionate support, to contribute to future camps please do so through www.helpanimalsindia.org/donate

“Treasure” finally receives family planning…

Varanasi, June 14, 2014 – Imagine you are taking care of a community “street” dog in India however there is no vet available when she needs to receive family planning! Ms. Bhawana of Varanasi writes about her beloved dog: “Here is Treasure and for the last four years she has been given birth to puppies every year outside the flat of the caretaker. Everytime I used to take care of them of initially for 3-4 months but as they start moving out of my house they were either thrown away from my apartment or were poisoned. But thanks God now she has been sterilized by Varanasi for Animals camp and is fine now.”

Kudos to the Ranchi HOPE and Animal team, Dr Upendra, Mr Nandan and Mr Sunil. And a big thanks to the Varanasi For Animals group, Ms Bhawana, Ayushee, and Niketan.

The team was able to operate 6 females and 4 Males on June 13 and 14, 2014.

At this camp we were able to help a few animals while thousands continue to suffer. Imagine the trauma a female dog gets when she is followed by 15 + male dogs – when she is in heat. And then caring and raising her pups without any support.

We are starting these spaying and vaccination camps again after a year long absence due to lack of funds and cooperation. Please give your support and we will try our best! http://www.helpanimalsindia.org/donate

April 7, 2013 – It was an early morning for our staff and volunteers today! At 5 am our team got ready to prepare VFA’s second Animal Birth Control camp at our clinic in Assi Ghat. With the help of Dr Ajay and Vinod a total of four dogs were spayed, neutered and vaccinated.

Before starting the second ABC camp, an education camp was held at the ghat. A banner was prepared by a group of young volunteers – thank you! Countless people were made aware of the important of animal welfare in general, and spaying and neutering in particular.

The surgeries were performed by Dr. Vinod Jaiswal and Dr. Ajay Singh performed the surgeries. Dr Vinod has practiced at Blue Cross at Chennai and Dr Ajay has been volunteering with us since a long time.

Today was very successful day for all of us at Assi. Hope with all your support we will organise many more camps!
